PROFESSIONAL EXPERTISE

Overview

• Providing support to editorial, grading, visual effects and audio departments, preparing media for offline and online projects, consolidating, relinking, transcoding and conforming media, grouping and synching rushes for multi-cam shoots and VT inserts, creating AAF's, EDL's, audio and video mixdowns.

• Operating linear and non-linear edit suites for digitising a variety of tape formats and tapeless media, monitoring, performing compilation edits and re-versioning for transmission and online, creating clocks, slates and graphic inserts, laybacks and edits of broadcast masters.

• Setting up and running Dailies, Monthlies, Client Reviews and Cinesync sessions in Nuke Studio, RV and Framecycler, both scheduled and ad-hoc.

• Editing shot selects and VFX breakdowns for show reels and sizzle reels in Adobe Premiere, creating sequence edits of episodes for client approval and submissions and monitoring render farms such as Qube and Deadline for exported and published shots.

• Maintaining and updating shot tracking databases such as Shotgun and Filemaker Pro, and managing SAN volumes.

• Coordinating the tape and file ingest and transcode of feature films, television programmes, commercials, music videos, trailers, EPK material.

• Managing workspaces on Avid Unity ISIS, EditShare and Facilis TerraBlock, backing-up drives and archiving edit projects.

• Responsible for ingesting and organising film and digital file rushes, VFX pulls and conforms in Avid Media Composer and installation and configuration of tape backup via LTO and LTFS tapes.

• Running quality control checks on incoming and outgoing material, ensuring shots are rendered and conformed in the correct colour space, appropriate LUTs and CDLs have been applied and shot information is up-to-date in the database.

• Uploading and downloading of material via multiple file delivery methods such as Aspera, Smartjog, Media Shuttle, FTP and Wetransfer and for viewing on platforms such as FORscene, Aframe, The Box, Vimeo and Youtube.

• Responsibility for installing and formatting drives, patching and routing between edit suites and MCR; setting up tape decks and VT equipment, calibrating monitors and preparing projectors for dailies sessions, reviews and meetings. 

• Performing eyeball QC checks for any compliance issues or technical faults, ensuring Baton and Vidchecker AQC and Harding reports have passed and all faults are documented, adding appropriate bumpers and channel logos in Vantage for UKTV VOD platforms, validating file metadata and generating new AS-11 compliant files for BBC channels.

• Creating dubs and clones from various formats, tape playouts, inserts and fixes, standards conversions via Alchemist Ph.C HD and UKON HD converters and running Harding tests.

• Sourcing clips from rushes tapes, producing tape spool lists for conforms and distributing production documents e.g. scripts,camera logs, rushes logs etc., to different departments.
